Join the La Mesa Mice!

The goal of our cheese club is to introduce people to the wonderful world of cheese + specialty goods through thoughtfully curated selections on a quarterly basis.

Each quarter you will receive 3 to 5 cheeses + other goodies that correlate with a different theme. Themes may be regional, seasonal, focused on a certain maker/creamery/affineur*, or an exploration of a specific make of cheese. In addition to the cheese, you’ll receive tasting notes, info about the maker, and pairing suggestions.

  • Two (2) private tastings for you + a guest. These tastings will need to be scheduled with the shop to provide the best service possible. You will be able to schedule two (2) tastings per year. A cheesemonger will guide you through a curated selection of cheese (different from what you receive in your distribution) and chat about what makes them so special.

*Affinage is French for “to refine.” An affineur is responsible for caring for the cheese as it ages. These techniques can take years to master and include, but are not limited to, washing the rinds of certain cheeses, coaxing different molds to form, changing/regulating the aging environment, and bringing cheeses to full maturity.

How it Works

Payment

Should you opt into becoming a La Mesa Mouse, your credit card will be securely stored in our Toast system to be billed $100 per distribution. Our policy requires that you enroll in autopay and give Bougie’s Cheese Shop permission to bill automatically on a quarterly basis. You will receive an email reminding you before your next automatic charge and will have 5 days to cancel or pause your subscription. Additionally, we require you to accept two (2) distributions before cancelling or pausing your subscription. Hence, your first invoice will require an initial payment of $200.

How Do I Get My Cheese?

We require that your distribution be picked-up in-store. We will be hosting cheese pick-up parties where you can meet your fellow mice and enjoy an evening engaging in community. If you are unable to attend, you will remain responsible for picking up your distribution in-store within a week of the pick-up party date.

After You Get Your Cheese …

To be a La Mesa Mouse is to be open to adventure and new flavor! Our goal is to expand your palate and introduce you to products you may have never encountered before. But that’s part of the fun of discovery! Due to our limited capacity and special ordering, and in alignment with health department regulations, we will not be able to accept any exchanges, returns, or refunds on products in your distribution.
